Promoting our authors

Author promotion form

After you submit your article to Metropolitan Universities journal (MUJ), you will receive an email prior to publication that includes a PDF proof of your article. This email will also contain a link to the ‘MUJ Author Promotion Form.’ By completing this form, you can share details we may use to promote your publication on CUMU’s LinkedIn page, such as tagging you in posts about your article, featuring you in an author spotlight, or highlighting previous authors’ new publications.

Promotional materials for you

Once the final issue is published online, all authors will receive a promotional email. This email will outline how CUMU plans to elevate your article, including featuring the issue in our newsletter and sharing it on LinkedIn with each author tagged. We suggest subscribing to CUMU’s newsletter so you don’t miss any information about MUJ and following CUMU’s LinkedIn page so you can see and repost information about your article.

You will receive this graphic to post on LinkedIn, for example. When posting, we encourage you to tag CUMU and link your article so we can help amplify your post.

Sharing your publication

To increase your LinkedIn visibility for your Metropolitan Universities journal (MUJ) publication, we recommend a few key strategies:

  1. Tag CUMU on LinkedIn: When you share your work on LinkedIn, tag CUMU so that we can repost and help boost engagement within our network.
  2. Use relevant hashtags: Include relevant hashtags to make your post discoverable to individuals searching for similar content. Example hashtags might include #HigherEdResearch, #UrbanUniversities, #HigherEducation, and #AcademicPublishing.
  3. Contextualize your research: Provide context about your study and its significance to encourage meaningful discussions and increase interest.
  4. Highlight your publication date: Let your network know when your work will be published in MUJ, using a clear call to action like, “My article will be released in Metropolitan Universities journal on [insert date].” This helps build anticipation and directs attention to your upcoming publication.

  6. Discuss your article in relation to current events: Whether you’re posting about your article a day after its publication or a year after its publication, share with your network how it aids to the dialogue surrounding current events.
